When the weather is like this, coming out of summer, it's hard to believe just how cold it isn't.
"How cold it isn't? Don't you mean how cold it IS?"
No, how cold it isn't because it is, after all, just in the low forties. Which under different circumstances (such as skiing in Utah in February) would seem downright balmy. But this stuff cuts right through you and chills you to the bone. Of course there is a scientific reason behind it, having to do with the moisture content conveying the heat/cold making it seem worse than it is. Hence the expression "But it's a dry heat." And that works in the other direction too "But it's a dry cold." Which this weather certainly is not.
Well, the backyard is just about done smelling like cedar. They put in a fence last week and had to cut all of the sections on site, so the whole place smelled wonderful. Of course, Storm had to immediately run and check the perimeter to make sure there were no gaps. I think we passed as she is still here. Haven't asked the neighbors for their opinion of it, but on the other hand I haven't asked them to reimburse us either for the fence that they decided to take down.
Well, the riding that I got in in September seems to have ground to a halt. Partially cuz of the dog, partially cuz...this is the time of year to start eating and begin hybernating. Need to resist that urge and force myself to...do just about anything. Will keep working on that and let you know how it goes...
