Strasburg

We didn't make it to Carlisle, but I would have to say that the trip was a success! A did a great job looking over the maps, doing cue cards for the first leg, and really figured out how to work the pedals on the tandem! When she was pushing them up the hills, I could tell!

The hardest part of the trip for me was trying to let her figure out where her limits were without letting her get burned too badly. She's a pretty tough cookie...

So we put in 65+ miles, had zero navigational errors, and navigated successfully across the section for which we had no maps. We ended up in an ice cream shop (now how did THAT happen?) in Strasburg. We were hot and tired, but pretty impressed with a good days ride.

Showers at a B&B and then a decidedly good meal at a local pizzaria. On a second stroll through the ice cream and candy shop, we saw them making waffle cones, peanut brittle and we saw, the second one in the week, an indoor beehive. Talk about your odd coincidence!

Returning to the room for a little trip planning before bed, it was revealed that there was a "gap" across which we were not going to be able to jump, or so it seemed. So we called in the sag wagon to rendezvous the next day at lunchtime. A perfectly fine call that left us with good thoughts about what we had done.

Now that we have a better idea of what we can do, the door has been left open for some more adventures....stay tuned.

Great Job Sweetie!
