NH in July

Wow, that was a very hot almost-week in NH. Breaking temperature records set in the 1930s. And the humidity was there too. Being lakeside sure did help, but if you can imagine that the lake was almost warm (or at least, not cold), then you have som idea about exactly how hot it was. Retreated to the cabin at night so we could all sleep under the slow turning fan...

Coming out of the hardware store around 1:00, the thermo in the car said 102. By 7:00pm it was down to about 92 in Keene. In New Hampshire! Yowza. Oppressive.

Dog did great up there. She learned to swim, made some new friends, but always came back. She followed us into the water and even went in on her own, so that was a success. She also got entirely tuckered out. Always nice to see that happen. The car ride was a bitlonger than she'd like, but I'm pretty sure that that is true for everyone.

Still no broadband at the house. H'ville store is the nearest place for that, or the library in Nelson or P'boro. Need to fix this...

Got in one good bike ride, though the rocky downhill into H'ville (the backway) was too much for my "street bike" and so I had to change a flat in the shade of the store...

Took a couple of pix with the new camera. They are getting sort of smart these days. One of the things they can do is to take a couple of photos and them "stich" them together, sometime into a panorama picture, or use them to copmpile a single shot for which there would otherwise be not enough light. That is how this low light "twilight" picture was made. Hi-tech point and shoot.
Also did some work on a set of stairs that the owner ordered. I think he's getting too old for the slope and so wanted something that he and his geriatric friends could use safely. (Though it's not like there is much of anything that they do safely!)
And the traffic was fine both directions...but tomorrow is Friday so we are heading in to work for one day.
Startng to stress the details for Breck...and I need to ride...
