Wow.
I figured out how to get the handle out.
And that enabled me to easily take the mesh basket out.
So now this baby is CLEAN!
Maybe not "good as new" but that's ok.
And I didn't need it for this, but I have been working on my veggie pot pie.
Wanna know the secret?
Fennel.
