not rain

Just a couple of drops of water...barely even shows on the pavement...

It's already 85 degrees and you're spinning, so you're already wet...not much of a threat there...

It's even still sunny...might see a few clouds that look a little ominous, but they are off in the distance...maybe you can see some thunderheads, though if you can see them, then they are far enough away as to not be a threat at all...

Shading up enough to make me reach back behind me and press my tailight twice to set it into blinky mode...

Turning onto a one lane road, there are trees on both sides...so it's raining a little more now, yea, but you're mostly protected, nothing too serious...summer showers pass like Top Ten Hits...

Smells like rain on hot asphalt...a couple of misty spots where you are feel like you are riding through a thick cloud...but also a couple of cool breezey spots as the temperature fluctuates quickly within very narrow areas...sticky hot to cool in an instant...

Not looking at any big downhills, so brakes and cornering in the wet are not an issue, let it rain if it wants to...despite the rumbling from the other side of that ridge you can see that it will pass before you know it...life is good.

The clouds darken a bit more, the water lets up, the wind kicks up as the temperature kicks down...the leaves start to rattle harder on the limbs..some more thunder buts the flashes are still somewhere on the other side of that ridge...though I am climbing to the top of this ridge...but this is the east coast, so that doesn't mean that I lose any tree cover...

Branches lying on the street here and there and the wind continues to pick up, trying to rip the leaves off the trees, a bit of a headwind, but, like earlier, it waxes and wanes a bit, like riding through a hot/cold spot...

Head down, making good time, enjoying the coolness.  The bike is in the shed and I am in the house before the real rain hits.  Ah, summer storms...life is good.
